Our dear friends, Ryan and Pamela came to help celebrate my birthday and to visit our new little family. The grownups had a great time exploring the Spy Museum and enjoying lunch at Zola while James went to daycare on Friday. I picked James up early and we had coffee with my friend Janice before rejoining Mark, Ryan and Pamela for drinks on the rooftop bar of the W Hotel and dinner at Chef Geoff's. On Saturday we had the pleasure of hosting brunch for our guests and Michael Rider, who made time to come see us and meet baby James while he was in DC. On Sunday we were inspired to take advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures and headed out to the bonsai exhibit at the National Arboretum before attending a family dinner to celebrate my birthday. On Monday, James went to daycare while I went to the spa at the Gaylord for some much appreciated birthday pampering! On November 16, James got his 4 month shots - he was so busy scrunching up his face at the taste of the oral rotavirus vaccine that he didn't even notice the 2 shots in his leg. Not one tear! He weighed in at 14 lbs, 12 oz. and 25 3/4 inches long. The biggest change was that his head measured 1/2" bigger in circumference! He's growing steadily, but now skewing more middle-of-the road on the growth charts. The next appointment isn't until January when he's almost 6 months old.
I watched every second of James being James! And loved every second!
