Our Town
The list of activities for young families never wanes in this city. On Saturday we went to the Mall to see the Dalai Lama. You can see exactly how close we got. (That's the screen projecting his appearance to the masses.)
Our view.
While there, we wandered through to see what the Smithsonian's annual Folk Life Festival had to offer this year. James was entertained by basket weavers and other craftsmen, live music performances, and the joy of being outdoors. We topped it off with a hot dog - a toddler favorite.
Basket Weaver
"Bhhhrumph, neigh." says the horsey.
On Sunday, Glamma joined us for a visit to another part of the city. Mark and James had been to the Marcatus art fair a month before, and had enjoyed walking around Yards Park. This time, we were drawn in by the fountain and wade pool. I was unprepared for the size of it! James went right in, in his clothes and everything. He had a great time. When he was done with the water, we lazed poolside while his clothes dried out in the sun.
