On Vacation

ROAD TRIP!

We left at James' bedtime on Friday for Grandma IJ's in Delaware, aiming to take advantage of a sleepy babe to help the drive go smoothly.  Mark and I stayed the night, and after a wonderful breakfast, headed back over the bay bridge to Maryland for two baby-free nights full of good old-fashioned fun.  We met friends and family for Phish's two-night stand at Merriweather Post Pavilion and shared the fruits of our NEW must-have appliance - the Frozen Concoction Maker (aka margarita machine).  After breakfast on Monday morning we made tour way back across the bay to pick James up for the remainder of our vacation.

Despite my hopes, business pressures forced me to schedule deadlines for our brief time back home.  On Tuesday while I worked Mark and James had some bonding time at the National Air and Space Museum and the National Arboretum.

Wednesday morning we hit the road again, (stopping briefly to pick up Taylor Jones) headed south this time for Raleigh, NC and Casa de Gajowski.  We arrived late in the afternoon and spent a fabulous 3 days there with Keith, an expectant Laura, and Jack - plus a rotating cast of characters. The guys went to another Phish concert on Thursday evening while the ladies and kids stayed home and played, ate, and napped.  On Friday we hit the pool and had a great pizza dinner at Mellow Mushroom.

Saturday afternoon marked our return north.  We arrived at Granny's at dinnertime and stayed for the annual July 4th and July Birthday BBQ on Sunday.  Early Monday morning we made the last leg back to DC and settled in for a new week and the old routine...

We had a great time!
