For Auld Lang Syne

Accoutrements of James' new kitchen.
Late in the week, our plans finally came together. Matt, Sarah, Grandpa and Glamma came to exchange gifts, enjoy a surf-n-turf meal (mmmm, lobster!), and watch the Phish show via live webstream. It was low-key and wonderful; perfect after a busy holiday week!

Then 2011 launched with a bang. The morning after our restrained New Year's Eve and the first day of a brand new year, we woke early and put together breakfast for a visit from our friend Michael Rider. I think my first attempt at a panchetta and chard fritata went over pretty well!

As breakfast was coming to a close, Grandma IJ arrived to visit and exchange gifts. Then Aunt Sarah came in the afternoon. And finally, we hosted the Wright clan for a much looked forward to reunion/sleepover.

Watching our three little boys - Brian 3, James 1.5, Gabe 1 - play and bathe together was the sweetest! James and Gabe got on especially well. We're planning ahead for a multi-family beach vacation with the Wrights, the Gajowskis and the Deckers this summer. 2011 is going to be a great year!

  1. Had a wonderful holiday break with Jenny & James and much family & friends. Seeing James interact with all of the wonderful people (and other little ones) in our lives is priceless.

By the way, the 95 peice food set with the kitchen was over the top!

  2. It was a blast to see all the boys parallel playing...together...yet not together. Next year they will be all over each other! Where will the beach party take place? We have a baby pool here...and free room and board! : )

  3. Cute boys indeed. Gabey had a lot of fun with James, and Brian coveted that d*mn trike, didn't he? We love the toys that holler obnoxous sayings - "Outta my way!" ;) Thanks for having us during a hectic time - great to see all three of you, plus Iris and Sarah too. xoxox We miss our Deckers so much.

  4. By the way folks, if you couldn't already tell from the photos, I'm here to tell you that Baby James is positively and totally adorable in person -as in, on TV, Baby Gap ad baby cute. He has the sweetest little face and demeanor - just irresistible. Kisses to you, little sweetie.
