Half-Birthday Kudos

Look out world!
Honestly, can you believe that we're halfway 'round again to James' birthday?

In the past six months the fog of new-motherhood has lifted a bit.  Still, every time I think, "Wow, I might just have this figured out!" James rewards my hubris with something new.  Since his birthday, James:
  • learned to climb the stairs and the step ladder
  • wore a suit and attended a wedding
  • had his first and second stomach flus, ear infection, and conjunctivitis
  • started talking and building his vocabulary to 20+ words
  • collected thousands of acorns, pebbles, leaves and sticks
  • went trick-or-treating
  • followed instructions!
  • learned to throw a screaming, kicking, biting tantrum
  • began really enjoying looking at and reading books
  • can climb onto the furniture
  • ate Thanksgiving turkey
  • gets time-outs for bad behavior (jumping on the couch and throwing food)
  • had his first live Christmas tree
  • recognizes Santa
  • watches (and loves) TV and movies
  • kisses and hugs the people he loves
  • entertains himself on car rides by watching out of the window
  • started sleeping with a pillow
  • had many, many bubble baths
  • has four new molars
  • eats chewy and crunchy foods like dried apricots and raw carrots
  • lost his morning nap
We used to rock him to sleep in this chair;
now he rocks himself!

He's rapidly turning into a little boy with a BIG personality.

Here are the stats from his check up with Dr. Abdullah yesterday - 26 lbs 6 oz (75%), 33 inches tall (75%).
