Another big weekend! On Friday night, we celebrated Flag Day with Dave, which was his graduation from the Foreign Service
orientation and revelation of his future posting. The assignment to Angola was a bit surprising for all (I for one will need to study up on my geography and cultural awareness of that country...) but generally regarded as a good place and a great opportunity/excuse for the family to visit the Dark Continent. This primary celebration coincided with the first night of Channukah and the Decker family gift exchange. As usual, Ilene put together a fabulous meal and we all enjoyed a spirited gift exchange.

On Saturday, we hit the mall for our first annual Great Santa Line experience. After 90 minutes, James was hungry, sleepy, and generally bored with the whole affair and we were certain we would get our first photos of a crying child on Santa's lap...but lo and behold, a mere instant after being handed over to Old St. Nick, James was smiling and laughing! The Pentagon City Santa Claus must be the real one to work such miracles. The pictures are just fantastic.
Then on Sunday, James turned 5 months old. I can hardly remember a time before he arrived and cannot believe that it's been five months already. Time seems to be both speeding by and creeping past at the same time!
Too cute! As usual.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the S Claus photo, and hats off to you guys for making it happen. I find it so hard to get those kinds of traditions accomplished, and then I regret it. James looks so happy and healthy, wish I could snuggle him! xoxo
