James' New Ride

It was time. The infant carrier/carseat maxes out at 22lbs and 29 1/2 inches, but though James hasn't hit either mark, his feet hang over the edge, his shoulders are wedged in, and the straps are too tight on their loosest setting. He's HAD IT with being squeezed in every time we go out. The carrier conveniently snaps into a stroller frame to complete our current travel system (in baby gear parlance.)

We finally had to face up to the task of purchasing new ones. We've had our stroller picked out for a long time - a babyjogger city mini featuring one-hand folding, small profile, and super lightweight design (we got the green one.) But the carseat required a little more trial and error since space in our little Impreza is at a premium, and we wanted to choose a long term convertible car seat solution (will stay backwards for now and turn forwards when James turns 1.) The Britax Roundabout seemed like a prime candidate based on size and safety and proved to be the winner in the end.

  3. We had the Britax Roundabout for Claire as her first convertible carseat--great carseat! You should consider leaving him rear-facing as long as the carseat will allow. Studies have shown it's much safer for them to rear-face. Claire stayed that way past 2 years old with the Roundabout. :) Jenny
