James' daycare family was still on vacation for the first full week of January, so my Dad agreed to come and babysit James while I worked at home. The two of them spent long afternoons together playing and learning new tricks. While Grandad was here, James learned to sit on his own for long stretches, hold his own bottle, and eat solid food more successfully. A big week!We also saw Dr. Abdullah on Monday for a check up. New stats: 17 lbs 2 oz, 27 1/2 inches long, 16.5 inch head circumference. Our big boy! He's back in the 90th percentile for length.

Perhaps because of all these new developments, he (and therefore all of us!) slept terribly all week. But maybe it was teething. Or maybe he just never got back to his rhythm from being away for Christmas...doesn't matter as long as it gets better.

P.S. On January 10th, James slept through the night for the first time since Thanksgiving! The next day he went back to his regular daycare with the Sweeks.

Best week I've had all year !!!
ReplyDeleteI had a blast with James.
Of course it was nice to spend some time with Mark & Jenny too.
I understand completely...and can't wait to babysit James in February.
