After a big week at work, we had equally big plans for the weekend.
The Gajowskis arrived in full force on Friday afternoon, and after getting the boys fed and to bed, the grownups (joined by Taylor Jones) settled in to a bit of reunion revelry fueled by pizza, cupcakes, wine and bourbon. Friday night went late, and Saturday morning came early as the little boys woke up.
After breakfast, Keith and Mark blew bubbles with James and Jack outside before we split up for the afternoon; Laura and I took the boys to a kid's concert at the Atlas while the Dads headed off to their annual football wager steak dinner at the Capitol Grille. We were all a bit more subdued on Saturday night and settled down with Thai delivery, and - after the kids went to sleep - a comedy in the DVD player, a glass of wine and a selection of candy treats.
On Sunday morning, we all focused on getting up, dressed and out of the house in time for our brunch plans with Rob Guroff, his twin daughters, mother, and sister (celebrating birthdays). We ate and played until nap time loomed too close and we had to say our goodbyes. I kept James awake for the ride home so we could all enjoy a good sleep before Grandma and Aunt Sarah popped by for a quick Hello.
We had tremendous fun and can't wait for our multi-family beach trip at the end of September. Seeing the kids play together this weekend has really ignited our imaginations at the fun to be had in the future! Thanks for coming to see us Laura, Keith, Jack and Aiden.
