Memorial Weekend
Woo hoo, a holiday weekend!
Saturday was for errands - haircut, toy store - and celebrating James' friend Reagan's 2nd birthday after nap time. But with a long weekend, we still had two more days to play!
On Sunday, we trekked out to Maryland to see what Wheaton Park had to offer. We packed up a picnic lunch and set out...when we got there we knew it was going to be a good day! There was a miniature train, a carousel, and icee truck, a picnic area, a playground, AND construction equipment!
James loved the merry-go-round!

The shaved iced treat was a big hit!
Despite the summer-like heat, we planned a trip to Teddy Roosevelt Island on Monday morning. The island sits in the middle of the Potomac, in the flight path of planes to and fro National Airport, and features walking paths and a memorial to the late, great President. We looked for walking sticks, glimpses of kayakers on the water, butterflies and blackberries.
