Spring Break at the Beach!

While our daycare family was away and Mark was on a boys trip, James and I spent the week at Grandma's!  Mommy worked while James and Grandma played.  (Whenever work was slow, Mommy got to play, too.)

We left home on Wednesday at bedtime.  On Thursday, I had to work all day, but James and Grandma had a blast playing outside and watching Ice Age.  Friday,  Grandma and James spent the morning together and after lunch, Grandma left for New York.   James and Iran errands, played at the Canalfront Park in Lewes and picked up some kid snacks before Grandma got home again on Saturday afternoon.  We had dinner with REAL New York Chinese food and caught up on our coverage of the royal wedding.  Sunday breakfast at a diner in Lewes, followed by some play time on the beach, a visit to the Lewes-Cape May Ferry playground and dinner while watching Aladdin rounded out our weekend.

Work started to slow down, and I was able to join James and Grandma for more play at the Canalfront Park and the farmer's market in Rehobeth in the afternoons.  James loved the playground in Rehobeth with the two-story slide and he couldn't get enough kettle corn!  Grandma also took James to visit a playground in Milton where they got to ride the train all by themselves for 30 minutes!

On our last day, it was rainy but James did not want to be cooped up inside.  We went to the Cape Henlopen Park Nature Center; Grandma bought James a new ladybug umbrella.  The we played at the McDonalds indoor play area and had a snack of french fries.  When we got home, it was time to have lunch and pack up to go home.  James was so upset when he realized that we were leaving Grandma behind!  We both had such a nice time.  Thanks for keeping us all week, Grandma!

  2. I had so much fun! With James and Mommy...

I'm so happy we live close enough to share these special times. Well, they may not seem special right now, but they will! : ) Love, Grandma

  3. Oh my gosh, these photos and the video are absolutely precious! Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun with Grandma Iris. James is such a little explorer, too! He notices EVERYthing! Can't wait 'till Alexandra is big enough to play with (or just annoy) him :)
